One of four paintings for the "Night Parade of 100 Demons " exhibition. 12” x12” acrylic on birch panel.
Each artist was asked to create 4 creatures for a re-interpretation of "Hyakki Yagyo: Night Parade of 100 Demons". The parameters were to depict a white demon on a black background and facing left (so they could be incorporated into one large montaged parade to accompany the artwork exhibited in the gallery). Curated by Hitoshi Murakami and Andrew Foerster for Northern Contemporary Gallery.
Each painting is 12” x12” acrylic on birch panel
An ethnically ambiguous Marianne: a nation’s greatest strengths are diversity and inclusion. Marianne is a french national symbol for Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. Idepicted Marianne with blue skin as opposed to following the colours of the French flag with white in the centre.
